(Updated share list as of noon on Thursday)First, Newburgh folks will get kohlrabi,
Owensboro folks will get a pattypan summer squash.
Everyone will get:
lettuce, radishes, garden peas, zucchini and yellow summer squash,
kale, Swiss chard, turnips and greens, spinach, spinach mustard, mustard greens
Did you know radish greens are edible? They're pretty peppery, but some people really enjoy a bit mixed in with the salad.
Also, to cut down on the radish bite, peel at least some of the skin off and keep them in the fridge a couple days before eating.
To tone down the bitterness of some of the greens, soak them in salt water then boil them in salt water and serve with butter.
In last week's magnum opus blog I gave instructions on how to freeze greens for use next winter. If you need that information and can't find it, let me know.
Summer squash will begin to be very bountiful and it can be preserved, too, in a variety of ways. I'll try to get those instructions posted soon.
